About Us
Our Story
Confluence Contemporary Ballet Company is a newly founded small contemporary ballet company created in May 2026 by dancers from varied movement backgrounds, training histories, and artistic perspectives. Many of us have danced professionally or trained at a high level, and although our lives have taken us in different directions, ballet and performance remain essential parts of who we are.
Our name comes from the word “confluence,” meaning the meeting of two or more streams. When separate currents come together, they form something stronger. This idea is central to who we are as a company. Each dancer brings something distinct: classical technique, contemporary movement, athleticism, musicality, softness, precision, and lived experience. Rather than asking those differences to disappear, we are interested in how they can meet, support, and strengthen one another.
Confluence was created as a space where dancers can continue to engage with ballet seriously, artistically, and professionally while bringing their full experiences into the work. At its core, the company is rooted in connection, individuality, and strength through collaboration. We use contemporary ballet as a living language: one that can shift, respond, and reflect the artists who bring it to life.
